When Lee met and married Jun in China, he was fascinated with her cooking and the variety of foods that she seemed able to effortlessly prepare. She shopped daily, always used the freshest ingredients, and took extraordinary care in making things not only look good, but taste great as well.
The Origin of Puckville's "Puck"
The “Puck” was inspired by the Chinese “Rou Bing (肉饼)”, a savory meat & veggie-filled fried bread. Jun did some changes to the original, wrapping pure meat fillings in a pastry dough, then baking them in a mold at high temperature and pressure to a golden, brown “Meat Pie”. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and filled with savory meat brings you a delicious & uniquely flavorful experience. The shape made naming them easy.
Fillings include Teriyaki Beef, Pepper Steak, Fiery Beef, Glazed Pork, 5-Spice Pork, Pineapple Pork, Sweet Chili Pork, Spicy Chicken, Yellow Curry Chicken, Red Curry Chicken, Chicken Fajita, and Pepperoni.
Time passed and business recalled Lee to the US, and of course he brought his wife, Jun and their twin daughters to America, to Oceanside. Always in their minds was the dream of a family business, bringing her unique culinary skills, into a food service endeavor.
Using Jun’s flair for taste and presentation, and Lee’s engineering skills, they designed and built ways to deliver her food non-traditionally, focused on Fairs, Farmer’s Markets and Special events. These venues allow the Moores to share the uniqueness of their meals in a casual and lively way. At the heart of their offering is the "PUCK".
